With this issue of the Journal, we are introducing a new category of papers on the practice of epidemiology. We see this as a forum for sharing information on practical issues in the design, implementation, and analysis of studies as well as an opportunity to bring knowledge and skills from other disciplines into epidemiology. Such papers can be found in the Journal, but, for several reasons, they appear relatively infrequently.
