RE: "INVITED COMMENTARY: VARIABLE SELECTION VERSUS SHRINKAGE IN THE CONTROL OF MULTIPLE CONFOUNDERS"

It has been brought to the attention of the Journal that reference 54, although cited in the text, is missing from the reference list of the invited commentary by Sander Greenland (1). The omitted reference is as follows:

54. Gustafson P, Greenland S. The performance of random coefficient regression in accounting for residual confounding. Biometrics 2006;62:760–8.

The remaining references in the list are correctly numbered. The author and the Journal regret this omission.
