RE: "EXPOSURE TO LOUD NOISE AND RISK OF ACOUSTIC NEUROMA"
Am J Epidemiol 2006;163:32733
Edwards et al. (1
) have reported an error in their recently published paper. On page 328, in the section entitled "Data collection and loud noise exposure assessment," the decibel level in the second sentence of the second paragraph is incorrect. Loud noise was defined as noise of 85 decibels or higher, not "that exceeding a level of 80 decibels" as was stated in the article. This error does not change the results of the study, only the definition of loud noise exposure.
The authors and the Journal regret the error.
