ERRATA

The Journal has been notified by Dr. Barry M. Farr of an error that occurred in typesetting the recently published article by Jernigan et al. (1) on effectiveness of contact isolation during a hospital outbreak of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The error occurred in the first paragraph of the discussion on page 502. A reference is missing from the sentence that reads, "The only controlled study of types of isolation for MRSA compared strict isolation with modified contact isolation and failed to detect a significant difference in rate of transmission, but the study included only 20 cases and had only 23 percent power to detect a 50 percent relative reduction in rate." The reference that should have been cited at the end of this sentence is reference 27 in the original reference list of Jemigan et al. (1), i.e., Ribner et al. (2).

The authors and the Journal regret this error.
