ERRATA

The authors of "Effect of Variation in Probability of Ascertainment by Sources (‘Variable Catchability’) upon ‘Capture-Recapture’ Estimates of Prevalence" (1) recently noticed an inversion of entries in table 3 that may confuse the reader. Briefly, the entries in the three right-hand columns of the upper two rows have been interchanged with the entries in the right-hand columns of the lower two rows. Thus, for the upper two rows, the conditions {{triangleup}+, {triangledown}0, or +} or {{delta}O, {triangledown}0, or +} imply r > 1, a < 1 and that np is an underestimate of the population total, as stated correctly in the text. Similarly, {{delta}O, {triangledown}–} or {{delta}–, {triangledown}0, or –} imply r < 1, a > 1 and np is an overestimate, also as implied correctly in the text on pages 1153 and 1154

The table was meant to elucidate the test, and we regret any difficulties this inversion may have caused the reader.
